2nd meeting with mentor

Meeting with my mentor for the second time enabled me to take a step forward in my project. I have been able to set titles to help structure my dissertation and doing this allows my to research different areas of my question and keep everything focused on one question instead of running wild with research what isn't useful.
Given the recent news on the courts trials ongoing with the Hillsborough this makes my project a lot more interesting as it is keeping it contemporary.

Timeline of event and intial ideas

To move forward with my EPQ and to help me be able to organise my dissertation into what i can talk about, I'm going to set out the timeline of events from a few weeks before the disaster to the present day. This will help me get a full idea on what was published by the newspapers and when, and what each tv broadcast of the disaster said about the event and how this changed from 1989 to how Hillsborough is presented now. After I have done this I will then be able to structure my final piece by organising what i will say and where.

First Meeting with Mentor

Meeting with my mentor helped me move forward with my project and to know what needs to be done next. The next stages for my project will be to find tabloid and broadsheet newspaper articles from the time of the disaster, and look at the different angles that each newspaper looked at and how each newspaper put the blame on different people.

Initial Ideas

Initial Ideas

For my EPQ, my initial ideas are to look at how the media represent and persistently published articles about the Hillsborough disaster, which took place on 15th April 1989. I intend to look at how the media distorted the reasons as to why the disaster happened and who blamed who, with also looking at how the different media aspects for example, television news reports, newspaper articles.

I will do this by looking at the newspaper articles at the time, and also documentaries from accounts from this day also.

I will also include the events briefly what happened on the day, the determination of the JFT96 and the injustice from The Sun and south yorkshire police department.
